Fredericksburg 42, Boerne 37

BOERNE - The Fredericksburg Battlin' Billies rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to down the Boerne Greyhounds on Friday night in a District 27-4A game played before 4,300 fans at Greyhound Stadium.

Eric Herbort threw touchdown passes of 11 and 12 yards to Bryson Wallace in the fourth quarter as the Battlin' Billies outscored the Greyhounds 21-6 in the final period. Herbort also hit Charlie Rockwood for a 64-yard TD pass in the first quarter.

Stanley Zwinggi's 5-yard run with 3 minutes left helped push the Battlin' Billies (7-2, 2-2 in 27-4A) to a 42-31 advantage. The Greyhounds (6-3, 2-2) completed the scoring with 1 second left when Turner Dyal caught a 20-yard pass from Aaron Scheel.

Zwinggi finished with 183 yards on 18 carries.

Boerne, No. 4 in the Express-News Sub-5A poll lost despite gaining 349 yards and notching 20 first downs.

No. 7 Fredericksburg finished with 210 yards and 12 first downs.
