Tivy renews rivalry in Fredericksburg
Itīs that time of year again. Fredericksburg vs. Kerrville Tivy.
What is there to say?
"Itīs always about stopping the run first," Smith said. "Last week we did a good job of shutting down the Alamo Heights run which forced them to go strictly pass. And we did a good job defending that option. Against Fredericksburg, weīll try to get into the right scheme and put the best players on the field to get the job accomplished."
The Antlersī biggest job tonight will be defending Billie tailback Stanley Zwinggi. The Fredericksburg senior has almost surpassed his 1,200-yard rushing output from last season, already having rushed for 1,120 yards to lead all players in the greater San Antonio area. Zwinggi is also third in the area in scoring, with 16 touchdowns for 96 points.
"Our thoughts first of all are on (Stanley) Zwinggi," Smith said. "Heīs definitely a threat and has the ability to take over a game. They have a good quarterback in Todd Dodds and of course we have to look out for (Sergio) Cisneros."
